One of our top clients based in Southampton is looking to recruit a Finance Deputy Manager.
The main purpose of this job will be to effectively create, maintain and monitor accurate financial/management accounts across the entire ledger range. Work to strict deadlines whilst managing staff. Manage and support team members in day to day activities and actively promote team working and relationships for the wider business; support and demonstrate the company visions and values. To reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare draft monthly management accounts.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Effectively manage day to day work for the finance team to include day to day queries.
* To train all members of staff, and keep up to date with training needs in conjunction with the Finance Manager
* To carry out 1-2-1 appraisals of finance staff in conjunction with the Finance Manager.
* To ensure that all processes and procedures are as efficient and effective as possible, highlighting issues where appropriate.
* Constantly monitor and improve processes and procedures to ensure successful running of the department and wider business
* Liaising with customer services in relation to creation and maintenance of customer accounts
* Ensuring all HMRC statutory payments and returns are submitted and paid within HMRC deadlines
* Effectively dealing with supplier invoice/statement/payment queries, assisting in their prompt resolution
* Completing supplier application forms, creating and maintaining supplier accounts
* Preparing reports and other financial information as requested or in-line with department schedules; either for colleagues or relevant third parties
* Effectively prioritise daily workload to achieve productive results and meet company deadlines
* *Preparing wages and processing expenses and mileage claims
* Confidently and positively responding to colleague requests for assistance or enquiries
* Provide suggestions for improvement of practices within the Company
* To provide holiday cover for processing Sales/Purchasing Invoices, payments, statements/Finance assistant duties
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
* Solid experience within assisting or preparing management accounts
* Overseeing Accounts team (Desirable )

* Work well within a team
* Adhere to deadlines

This a permanent full time position, paying between £22-£28k per annum.
