We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join an impressive and growing international based aerospace organisation. This is a permanent role and you will be reporting directly into the Managing Director. The purpose of the role is to manage the commercial risks inherent within the company's contractual agreements and ensure compliance at all times with export regulations.

You will require the following skills and experience:-

 

  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment (preferably Aerospace).
  • Previous experience in a role managing risk with commercial agreements.
  • To have a clear understanding of ITAR & EAR Regulations and UK Dual Use & Military export regulations.
  • To have a thorough knowledge of HMRC tariff codes
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally & written
  • An approachable, calm & assertive disposition
  • Educated to Degree level in Contract Law or equivalent formal qualification in contract law
  • Experience in providing contract & commercial advice
  • Experience in Export Licences, Export control compliance & documentation
  • Knowledge of ERP systems

 

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:-

 

  • Providing balanced advice on reduction of commercial risks by appropriate revisions to contractual terms
  • Reviewing & providing guidance to managers on commercial risks inherent within contracts issued to/from the company
  • Managing the interaction with the company's external legal advisors
  • Implementing and providing advice to ensure compliance to UK and US Import/ Export Control Regulations.
  • Advising the company on HMRC tariff codes and best practice for importing and exporting
  • To be the first point of contract for all HMRC customs issues
  • Generating and revising processes and procedures specific to handling of Import/ Export Controlled materials
  • Carrying out assessments and audits to ensure the areas are compliant with Import/ Export Control processes & procedure
  • Controlling & managing the application process for export licences and liaising with BIS thereon
