We are currently recruiting for a Planning Administrator to join a leading shipping company with offices based in Southampton.  We are looking for an experienced all round administrator who can demonstrate excellent customer service skills, has high attention for detail, excellent interpersonal skills and thrives under pressure. The purpose of the role will be to act as first point of contact for all planning related queries from both internal & external customers.

 

The Role:

  • Supporting the operations department with daily administrative tasks
  • First point of contact for post-planning related queries from customers
  • Checking & distributing terminal sailing reports to customers
  • Maintaining & updating scheduling information
  • Clerical support to all members of the planning team
  • Liaise with vessel operators, port authority staff and shipping lines to ensure a smooth service

 

Suitable candidates will:

  • Shipping industry experience
  • Experience within an administrative role is essential
  • Positive and proactive approach
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • High standards of Customer Service
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • Good attention to detail

Successful candidates will benefit from a desirable basic salary of circa £16-17K.
