We are working with a well-established electronics manufacturer based in the Fareham/Southampton area predominately supplying the marine industry to find someone to join their Design team in the position of Graduate or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer.

The salary is circa £22'000 to £30'000 per annum (depending on your level of experience) plus a contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday, flexible working hours, medical insurance, child care vouchers, mentoring, extensive training, help with working towards chartership (if required), and other voucher schemes. This is an established company with a relaxed and motivated working environment.

The software they use is Solidworks but they will provide training as long as you have some 3D design experience from your studies. They have a structured graduate training program but they can adapt this depending on someone's existing knowledge and experience, they will also encourage any desires you have for personal future development.

Requirements:

Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive engineering or similar (Apprenticeships will also be considered instead)

Must have a desire to pursue design as a career with a passion for engineering

Anyone with a background in or desire to work in the marine industry would be well suited - especially if you sail!

They are more than happy to consider a graduate (2014/2015) with no engineering experience but equally this could suit someone who is 1-2 years in and they will adjust the salary and training accordingly.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable working with engineers from different disciplines
