I am working closely with a large mechanical engineering company in the Fareham area to recruit a Team Leader to the Inspection functions, you would be looking after a team of 6 inspectors to ensure conformity, resolve issues, identify trends in nonconformity and work to find a solution, and assist Quality Manager to improve quality culture across the company.

Requirements for the role

  • Some experience leading or supervising a small team, someone standing in for a supervisor who wants to move their career on would be considered
  • You will have a relevant qualification, e.g. Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC or Degree
  • Understanding of quality auditing techniques
  • Understanding of basic report writing
  • Background in inspection of machined components and assemblies
  • You will need to have experience in a mechanical engineering environment; Aerospace or Aviation would be best suited.
  • Knowledge of AS9100
  • Detailed mechanical inspection in an aviation environment
  • Excels in a complex, and fast paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, independent, strong communication skills and shows excellent relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Some knowledge of CMM programming would advantageous but can be trained for the right person.
  • Exposure to Continuous Improvement.
