Our client is an established, fast moving manufacturer based in Hampshire and they are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer for a permanent position.

Salary is up to £33’000 to £35'000 per annum depending on experience. Company benefits include Pension scheme, Subsidised canteen, Free parking, optional Medical scheme, Cycle to work scheme, Discount Scheme (vouchers/discounts)

This role is commutable from Portsmouth, Havant, Chichester, Southampton, Fareham, Waterlooville, and surrounding areas.

The Role.

  • Developing the Quality processes, procedures, and controls for development, manufacture and supply. Provide the necessary Quality Engineering function to the business.
  • To assist in introducing into production a quality assured product to demanding customer and legal specifications, to participate in APQP Controls with all parties involved, and to be responsible for specific disciplines within SDS.
  • To support the development of APQP Controls to quality assure the product from concept to production.
  • Develop control plans and parts/process verification check/audits, assisting in developing D & P FMEA’s and with the submission of customer approval documentation (PPAPs/PSWs).
  • Lead in-house and at suppliers/customers on containment and problem solving.
  • To generate a Quality status report each week/month.
  • To implement and maintain a robust quality management and improvement system.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and observe all the safety rules to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others.

Requirements.

  • Qualified in an Engineering discipline to HNC level or equivalent
  • Computer literate
  • Formal qualification in a recognised Quality discipline or equivalent
  • Proven practical experience in a recognised Quality role
  • Working knowledge and experience within a Quality Engineering environment
  • Proven experience of working within a team
  • Experience of the automotive industry or similar
  • Sound knowledge of operational issues within a manufacturing environment
  • Able to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers and suppliers at a high technical and basic level
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Able to work effectively in a pressurised environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems
  • Determination, focus and embracing change are essential

This role may include some travel for both UK and Europe
