We are working closely with a fast paced automotive parts manufacturer in Fareham who are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure quality standards with their suppliers. They are a Tier 1 supplier who provide parts to leading automotive companies and have won multiple industry awards.

Are you outgoing and have the ability to build rapport quickly through a professional approach? To succeed in this role you will have an experienced background within quality and manufacturing environments and can handle the demands of a fast paced environment.

You will need to liaise with multiple departments such as Purchasing, Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing so strong communication skills and engineering background are a must!

You could be reporting directly to the Purchasing Director and have a strong influence on all supplier related matters. In the case of supplier non-conformance you will oversee Defective Material Reports (DMR), managing scrap and sorting and re work of supplier parts.

Working closely with the suppliers you will performing supplier audits to identify and resolve non-conformance issues, using root cause analysis and continuous improvements to overcome any obstacle.

Are you qualified with an engineering degree or recognised quality accreditation through working experience? You could be using your inspection and metrology background to be the link between the client and suppliers.

Using your knowledge of PPAP, APQP and 8D problem solving you will rectify any issues, providing regular presentations and reports to management on all supplier related issues.

There will be some travelling for the role to various supplier both in the UK and Europe (up to 20%). Due to this you will need to have a valid UK driving licence and passport.

The working hours for the role are;

Monday - Thursday 08:45 - 16:45 and Friday 07:45 - 12:45

The salary for the role is circa £33,000 but is negotiable depending on experience.
