Paralegal – Plot Sales

A Fantastic Opportunity for Progression!

If you have either: LPC, degree in law, CILEx or equivalent OR a paralegal who already has some property experience, then this is the opportunity for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Paralegal to assist our Client's Conveyancer with plot sales and bespoke residential conveyancing matters.

Within a supportive team you will be carrying out the following:

  • Putting together Contract Packs for sales, including completing key details on Contracts, Leases and Transfers.
  • Assisting with pre-completion formalities including the preparation of completion statements and engrossment documents for signature.
  • Continually increasing your legal knowledge and putting this into practice to help reach department targets.
  • Raising any issues which arise to the Supervisor and showing the ability to help others to assist the team in reaching targets.
  • Responding to customer enquiries from new and existing clients providing information about the services which can be provided.
  • Understand the practice and importance of complying with and promoting firm-wide / Solicitors Regulation Authority procedures.
  • Update clients, estate agents and other solicitors, taking actions agreed with fee-earner/team leader and report back progress.
  • On a daily basis tie incoming post up with client files, update case management system (if applicable), liaise with fee-earner as to required tasks, deal with queries, agree action etc. Follow up matters and action points arising from meeting and prepare files for completion.

The ideal candidate will be motivated and computer literate. They must have a high level of communication skills and a keen eye to detail. It is important to be analytical and have problem solving abilities with a capability to learn. Ideally, you will have a desire to go above and beyond expectations using your own initiative, have a creative approach to problem solving, overcoming challenges, despite hurdles and resolve challenges consistent with LA's values and ways of working.

Hours: A minimum of 37.5 hours per week 9am to 5.30pm with a one hour lunch break per day.

Based in Southampton office but travel to Bournemouth and London office may be required.
