Our Young People's Service in Portsmouth has been established for 18 months. It enables young people with learning disabilities to step out as young adults in to a supported living environment where they can learn the skills at their own pace that will help them to live independently.

While with us, our tenants learn domestic and social skills, and also learn about the community and society around them. The team that provide the support are vibrant, fun and serious about making a positive difference for the lives of our tenants.

The Deputy Team Leader is responsible for working with the Team Leader to manage and develop the Young People's Service, enabling its tenants to safely live the lives they choose, while developing their own independence within the time that they are supported here.

You are expected to help the Young People's Service meet the requirements of the Care Standards Act and Regulations, ensuring the services meet the standards set out by the Care Quality Commission and other legal requirements including Portsmouth's Safeguarding policies.

To do this you will manage and work as a team with staff, tenants, care and other agencies to ensure that the emotional, medical and material needs of tenants are recognised, assessed and met and to enable each tenant to achieve their full potential.

As an organisation, the Aldingbourne Trust is regarded as a care employer of choice, and were runners up nationally in the 2016 Skills for Care Accolades Employer of the Year. We will help you to develop your career and skills, and enable you to enjoy your work.
