We are looking for a temporary Building Maintenance Assistant based in Havant.

This position is expected to last approximately 3 - 6 months.

The pay rate is £8.76 - £11.03 per hour dependant on experience.

Job Purpose:

To provide an economic, efficient and effective Building Maintenance Service to include:

• Assisting in the provision of a Building Maintenance Service to the Property Service Group for all Council owned and leased buildings.

• Ensuring that all Building Maintenance/Capital works are carried out to acceptable standards, on time and within budget provision.

• Ensuring that all Building works are carried out in compliance with current Health and Safety standards and the Council's Safety Policy.



The successful candidate will require the following:

• Experience of the building construction industry and having worked with a wide variety of building trades

• Specifying and issuing work orders

• Experience of identifying defects

• Experience of preparing estimates and operating on a schedule of rates.

• Good computer skills

• Accurate and methodical

• Ability to interact with a variety of trades, companies and customers

• Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations

• Knowledge of CDM Regulations

• Full Driving Licence and own transport.
