The Department for Curriculum and Quality Enhancement is seeking to recruit a senior academic member of staff to lead the Academic Development section and take forward the University’s Education Strategy.

The Academic Development section delivers the Academic Professional Excellence (APEX) programme which is accredited by the HEA and aligns to the UK Professional Standards Framework. The section also manages an extensive events programme, CPD and provides consultancy to faculties.

As Head of Academic Development you will provide operational and strategic leadership and management in the further development and direction of the section. You will take an active role in creating, leading and maintaining networks, both internally and externally, to promote the University, share good practice and ensure relevant benchmarking of our provision.

With a qualification in teaching in higher education and Senior or Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, you will be an experienced teacher and researcher as well as an excellent leader with the ability to build trust and credibility across a range of key stakeholders.  Committed to people development and service provision, you will be able to work flexibly with academic and professional colleagues across the University and possess the resilience to work in a context of change.
