Job Summary:

The post is based at Hope House, Portsmouth which is a 24 bed residential service, an 8 bed emergency overnight service and floating support within the city. The Floating Support Worker is key to achieving successful outcomes for vulnerable clients living in the Portsmouth area and delivering a high quality programme of community based support which promotes client choice and control.

Key Responsibilities: Delivering person centred support in a community based lone working capacity. Managing a client caseload and assessing and managing risks with minimal management intervention. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate: • NVQ 3 qualification in a related field or willingness to work towards it • Experience of working with vulnerable people and conducting risk assessments and holistic person centred support plans • Knowledge of the benefits system and an understanding of supported housing funding streams and reporting requirements • Positive attitude and a high level of motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes • Proficient in a range of IT packages including Microsoft • Able to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army
