The Department of Psychology intends to appoint a Project Administrator in Psychology as part of a team on a high profile education intervention funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England focused on addressing barriers to student success and closing the attainment gap for Black Minority Ethnic (BME) and working class students. Under the leadership of Professor Sherria Hoskins and Dr Jessica Gagnon, the intervention will involve four partner universities: the University of the Arts London, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Brighton, and the University of Winchester. The project is titled: Changing Mindsets: Reducing stereotype threat and implicit bias as barriers to student success. The project will enable a scaled-up, refined version of the existing Changing Mindsets intervention to be delivered as workshops to students and staff at each institution to build growth mind-set and to address implicit bias and stereotype threat. The post is for 19 months, starting at the end of May 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will be responsible to Senior Research Fellow, Dr Jessica Gagnon and will be required to liaise with the project team to plan, monitor and report on matters relating to: finance, research data management, preparation of project reports and materials related to the intervention, event organisation and management, and will also be responsible to establish and maintain communication links for the project. We seek a highly motivated and collegial individual. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills. Web and social media experience is desired.
