The University of Portsmouth wishes to recruit an International Student Adviser. The University of Portsmouth has over 4000 overseas students from the EU and abroad. Reporting to the International Student Advice Manager, you will provide operational and administrative support to assist with organising Orientation, planning extra-curricular activities which promote and enhance the student experience, advising students on immigration matters, and providing face-to-face general information and assistance to international and EU students.
You will have relevant experience in working face to face with the public, preferably in the field of higher education, but certainly within a customer service based role. You will possess excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, empathy and sensitivity to other cultures plus knowledge and a demonstrable interest in intercultural communication.
Experience in administration of surveys, reports and statistical analysis of data would be advantageous, and a UK Honours Degree (or equivalent) is essential. This position may require irregular working hours and occasional overseas travel
