The Service

Within revenues and benefits we deal with over 37,000 dwellings and nearly 2,000 businesses, and support customers through the delivery of housing benefit and council tax support. And by finding ways to increase the amount of income we generate, we help the council to continue to provide the services our customers rely on.

What is the role?

Within this role you will be reporting to the Benefits Team Leader as well as working with other members of the Benefits and Revenues Teams. You will learn our postal opening procedures, recording, scanning and indexing of written correspondence received within the Service. You will input data using our IT systems and carry out other general administrative duties.

Who is the person?

We are looking for someone who is:

1. Positive, motivated, thorough, efficient, responsible, committed and understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion.

In addition you need:

2. Good IT skills and be familiar with MS office including Word, Excel & Outlook 3. Good written and verbal communication skills as many of our enquiries are through written communication needing written responses and over the telephone. 4. To be a team player, able to fit into the current team and willing to help out as needed. 5. To be methodical with a good attention to detail which will be necessary for the work you will be required to assist with.
