01 November 2017

Interview date: 05 December 2017

Candidates are invited to apply for a permanent, full time post in the Department of Psychology. The Department is expanding its postgraduate provision in line with the University’s core theme of Health and Wellbeing.

We offer a vibrant and supportive academic community with an excellent research environment and facilities, and opportunities for professional development for staff.  We have a track record of providing an exceptional educational experience for our students.  The Department is committed to equality and diversity and fully engages with Athena Swan, currently holding a Bronze Award.

We have a policy of linking our teaching, research and innovation, and are seeking highly motivated and collegial individuals who are passionate about their research and innovation, and who can deliver high quality engaging teaching.  We welcome applications from candidates in any area of Health Psychology who will enhance and/or extend the Department's research and innovation profile.  Candidates will have demonstrable evidence of research or innovation excellence and / or practitioner experience relevant to health and well-being, commensurate with their stage of career, that will enable them to contribute to the Department’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework. Experience of collaborative research in the health care sector would be an advantage.

The Lecturer post holder will contribute to the development of, and teaching and project supervision on, a new MSc in Health Psychology.  They will also support some teaching and project supervision on our existing undergraduate and distance learning degrees. Holding Chartered Health Psychologist status with the BPS and being a registered Health Psychologist with the HCPC would be an advantage’.

For an informal discussion of the above post please contact Dr James Ost, Head of Department, Department of Psychology
