Purchasing Manager

A Purchasing Manager is required for a dynamic company to manage suppliers, develop purchasing strategies as well as plan, coordinate and control product purchasing ensuring budgets are adhered to.

Duties:

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies
• Liaising with Directors on strategies
• Working closely with forwarding agents
• Conducting market/pricing analysis
• Supplier Management:
• Negotiating terms with suppliers
• Ensuring products meet quality control standards when delivered
• Help to source alternative merchandise/new products
• Renegotiate supplier prices, Monitor & evaluate supplier performance
• Stock Maintenance
• Raising relevant PO's / order processing
• Liaise and support the Sales team
• Checking inventory and maintaining and updating Purchase Orders on SAGE software
• Maintain high level SAGE stock accuracy

Skills:

• Experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Manager
• Knowledge in Sage (not critical), MS Office, Word, Excel, and Purchasing related business systems.
• Good negotiation skills, able to forecast, analytical and strong planning skills
• This management role would suit an experienced Senior Buyer or Purchasing Manager that has proven experience in purchasing stock and working in conjunction with various departments within a business.
