We are working with a top 20 firm of chartered accountants who are looking for an Audit Manager to join their large team based in their Winchester, Hampshire office. The trainees are all doing very well and producing lots of work that along with client growth, the current managers don't have enough time to review! It's time to bring in another Manager to join the team and continue the growth. This is a great job for someone with some initial managerial experience looking for the next step up.

About the firm

The Winchester office is just a short walk from Winchester Train Station and has plenty of staff parking. Based in a large and modern building on the outskirts of town, you will certainly feel that you're a member of a big firm. However, the open plan workspaces take away the corporate, impersonal feelings that are so often associated with top firms.

About you

You should be ACA or ACCA qualified and able to demonstrate 5+ years practice experience with proven loyalty. You must be confident leading audits and carrying out smaller audits alone. This would be a good job for you if you are looking to join a larger firm to develop your skills, working with larger clients on more complex work. As with all audit roles, you must be a car owner and open to some travel, although the majority of clients are local. Due to the high demand in workload, you must have the confidence to hit the ground running and confident managing staff, providing them with sound technical knowledge and advice. An excellent command of the English language is essential and knowledge of various accountancy software is beneficial.

About the job

You will be carrying out audits from planning to completion, setting budgets and reviewing audit files of junior staff. You will be responsible for managing seniors and trainees and their first point of call for queries. You will hold other responsibilities including reviewing accounts and working closely with the tax teams to ensure corporation tax returns are completed. This is a great opportunity to gain some strong experience as a Manager in a very busy and demanding team.
